W: OK. How are you going back? By bus or taxi?
M: I think I'll take a taxi. Do you know where I can get one?
W: Oh, just wait by the roadside. I'll wait with you.
M: OK. Thanks. Are the taxis in London all yellow?
W: Well, some of them are. Is this your first time in London?
M: Yes, it is. Do you give extra money to taxi drivers here?
W: You mean a tip? Oh, yes. They usually expect about ten
percent.
M: That's the same in my country.
W: Oh, look. Here's one. Taxi!
M: Thanks. See you tomorrow.

M: I'm getting dressed.

red tie?
W: It's on the dresser next to the jewelry box.

watch is?
W: Isn't it on the top drawer on the right?

W: It's 6:45.
M: And when does the play start?
W: At 8:00 sharp.

W: Do I have to make a speech tonight?
M: Just a short one, after dinner.

W: I'll be glad when the voting is over. I'd like to have a good night's sleep more than anything else right now. I have to shake hands with so many people.

W: Do you like to ski?
M: Yes, I love to go skiing.
W: Where do you go?
M: I go to a hotel in the mountains.

M: Oh, yes! It gets very cold. It snows a lot.
W: Do you go alone?
M: A couple of my friends usually go with me. Do you want to
come along some weekend?
W: No, not me. I don't like cold weather.

Paul, a salesman from London, was driving past a sports car parked outside a supermarket, when he saw it start to roll slowly down the hill. Inside the car were two young girls on the passenger seat but no driver. Paul stopped quickly, jumped in front of the sports car and tried to stop it, pushing against the front of the car. Another man who was standing nearby got into the car and put on the handbrake, saving the girls from injury. It was at this point that Paul noticed his own car rolling slowly down the hill and going too fast for him to stop it. It crashed into a bus at the bottom of the hill and was so badly damaged that it had to be pulled away to a garage. As if this was not bad enough, Paul now found he had no one to blame. He was so busy chasing his car that he didn't get the name of the driver of the sports car who just came out of the supermarket and drove away without realizing what had happened.
