假如你的英文推薦信是要寫給申請院校的某位教授，那么首先要加上稱呼，比如“Dear Mr.Smith”、 “dear ms. Li”等。
英文推薦信的首段應該說明你和申請者的關系，包括你是如何認識他(她)的、你和他(她)的關系如何以及你的職務等。
在第二段中，推薦人應該寫明申請者的個人信息。包括：申請者的個人基本信息、申請者的能力、在校表現、是否獲得獎勵、是否發表過學術論文或發布過科研成果以及你為他(她)撰寫推薦信的原因。
在第三段中，推薦人要標明申請者所申請的專業，重點描寫他(她)是否有能力或者為什么有能力申請本專業，這一段是最關鍵的部分，是決定著申請者能否被錄取的決定性因素。
第四段是總結。在敘述完主要內容后，就要進行結尾的撰寫了，總結不要寫的過長，很簡短就可以;總結部分的內容主要是推薦人再次陳述為何要推薦他(她)申請本專業。
最后就是標注備注信息。在最后的備注信息中，推薦人可以提供更多的有利于申請人的信息，然后再標上你的詳細聯系方式(手機、宅電、辦公室電話、Email)等。

I was deeply impressed with Zhang’s academic strength and outstanding learning ability demonstrated in my class. I still remember that she corrected my mistake, when other students did not even realize I was wrong. Then she came to me and explained the mistake to me. And it turned out that I was picturing the diagram by mistake. Then she also explained her solution to me which turned out a more lucid one. When I explained her solution to other students, they also can understand it. I then understood that her knowledge in her major played a significant role in studying Economics.
